Jerez & Sherry Triangle — Boutique Hotels & Travel Guide
Jerez de la Frontera is the capital of sherry — the fortified wine produced from Palomino grapes grown on the chalky albariza soils of the triangle between Jerez, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, and El Puerto de Santa María. It is also the home of the Carthusian horse and the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, one of the finest equestrian traditions in Europe. The city moves at a pace that makes Seville look hurried, and the sherry culture — the bodegas, the tapas bars, the long lunches — is the most civilised in Andalusia.
Jerez & Sherry Triangleを訪れる理由
A bodega visit in Jerez is one of the finest food and drink experiences in Spain — the cathedral-like naves of González Byass or Williams & Humbert, the solera systems stacked to the ceiling, and the tasting of fino, amontillado, and palo cortado in sequence. Sanlúcar de Barrameda, at the mouth of the Guadalquivir, produces manzanilla — the lightest and saltiest style of sherry, which should be drunk cold with fresh langoustines from the river. The Doñana National Park, accessible by boat from Sanlúcar, is one of the great wildlife reserves of Europe.
訪問のベストシーズン
April and May for the Feria del Caballo — Jerez's horse fair, the finest equestrian event in Spain — and the sherry harvest in September, when the grapes are cut and pressed in a tradition unchanged for centuries. The bodegas are open year-round. Sanlúcar's langoustine season peaks in summer.
Nova Insider
The manzanilla bodega at Bodegas Barbadillo in Sanlúcar is the largest in the world and offers a tasting that includes their Solear manzanilla poured directly from a barrel that has been ageing under flor yeast since before anyone in the room was born. Drink it cold, with a plate of locally caught gambas, at the bar in the bodega courtyard. It is one of the most specifically Andalusian experiences available anywhere in the region.
