Korčula & Pelješac — Boutique Hotels & Travel Guide
Korčula is a densely forested island of medieval stone towns, excellent wine, and a quietness that distinguishes it from its more famous neighbour Hvar. The old town of Korčula, built on a small peninsula with a herringbone street plan designed to channel sea breezes, is one of the most beautiful in Dalmatia. The Pelješac Peninsula, connected to the mainland and accessible by bridge, produces the finest red wine in Croatia from its Plavac Mali vineyards above the sea.
Korčula & Pelješacを訪れる理由
Korčula Town's old town is compact, beautiful, and manages its visitors considerably better than Dubrovnik or Hvar. The wine villages of the Pelješac Peninsula — Potomje, Dingač, Postup — are among the most interesting wine destinations in the Mediterranean, with small family producers making wines of genuine distinction from vineyards that face the sea at 45-degree angles. The oysters of Mali Ston, at the base of the peninsula, are among the finest in Europe.
訪問のベストシーズン
June through September for swimming and island life. The Pelješac wine harvest in September and October is one of the great agricultural spectacles of the Dalmatian coast. Korčula in late spring, before the summer season begins, has a quiet beauty that the peak months cannot offer.
Nova Insider
Drive the Dingač wine road on Pelješac to the small window in the cliff face that looks directly down onto the vineyards and the sea below — it is one of the most dramatic wine landscapes in Europe and almost nobody stops. The local cooperative at Potomje sells Dingač direct to visitors at prices that are genuinely extraordinary given the quality. Buy a case and have it shipped home.
