The Best Rooftop Pool Hotels in Athens

From certain rooftops in Athens, the city unfolds as a dense grid of white and terracotta. Below, the narrow lanes of Plaka follow their ancient course. Above, the day’s heat is met by the cool surface of a pool, its edge a clean line against the capital's low-slung profile. This is a specific kind of observation post: the sun warming the limestone under a folded towel, the attenuated sound of traffic, the constant presence of the Acropolis on its high rock. This raised perspective offers a quiet counterpoint to the city’s ground-level energy.
