The Best Historic Splendor Hotels in Santa Margherita Ligure

The arc of the waterfront in Santa Margherita Ligure is lined with palms and buildings of a certain bearing. These structures recall an era when travel was a more deliberate affair. Here, the idea of historic splendor is found in the details of their preservation. It is in the carefully raked gravel of a courtyard, in the consistent geometry of a parquet floor, and in lobbies where conversations are kept to a considerate volume. This is not a recreation of the past but a quiet maintenance of its standards, set against the backdrop of the Ligurian Sea.
